RISE Marked a Before and After for Ideas Factory
How the CHCC Foundation’s RISE Entrepreneur Program reframed my perspective on systems and growth.
By Gabe Gramajo · Founder & CEO, Ideas Factory
I run a company that helps businesses automate processes, reduce bottlenecks, and build systems that can scale.
I joined the RISE Entrepreneurial Program because, as the founder of an AI consultancy, I realized I was spending my days helping other businesses build smarter systems while my own company still depended too heavily on me. Every major decision, every service line, and every bottleneck eventually came back to my desk.
RISE gave me the structure, accountability, and perspective to finally lead myself first.
Ideas Factory was already operating. We had clients, a team, projects, products, and a clear direction around AI automation and technology services. I went into RISE expecting a useful refresher and some good networking.
Instead, it forced me to look at the business differently. Through the program’s six core areas and by using AI as a true thinking partner rather than a shortcut, I was able to build the things I had been avoiding for years.
One question stayed with me:
"If I stepped away for two weeks, what would stop moving?"
The answer was uncomfortable. Too many things still depended on me, sales conversations, pricing, architecture decisions, client escalations, and final approvals. That was not a people problem. It was a systems problem.
Three core breakthroughs helped me reframe how we actually work at Ideas Factory:
2026 CEO Vision
Building a clear, long-term structure for where Ideas Factory is headed, moving beyond the week-to-week grind.
Standardized Decisions
Implementing the 48-hour decision rule and "decide once" principle to eliminate founder-level bottlenecks.
Weekly Rhythm
Establishing a consistent rhythm that keeps priorities visible and small problems from becoming bigger ones.
Veronica and Karla, such an amazing duo, and my cohort peers helped me identify and repair the “broken windows” in my business. Today, Ideas Factory relies more on systems, standards, and shared ownership, not just on my personal availability.
The other important part of RISE was the cohort. We came from very different industries, but once we started discussing growth, we were dealing with many of the same things, capacity, delegation, pricing, sales, cash flow, leadership, and finding time to work on the business instead of only inside it.
That perspective matters. Sometimes it is easier to recognize a problem in someone else’s company and then realize you have been dealing with the same issue yourself.
A few months later, that change became very visible to me at the CHCC 47th Annual Statewide Convention in Oakland. Ideas Factory participated as an exhibitor, sharing our work around AI automation, Vision Concierge, Vision Builder, systems integration, and practical AI solutions.
The program did more than sharpen my strategy. It changed how I show up as a CEO. I have recovered valuable time to reinvest in my family, my friends, and the long-term growth of the company.
We are still evolving. We are still working to reduce founder dependency, build repeatable products, strengthen recurring revenue, and create better internal systems. But the question I ask today is different.
I used to ask: What do we need to get done this week?
Now I ask: What kind of company are we building, and does this week move us closer to it?
Most importantly, I am now building Ideas Factory into a model that can be replicated, scaled, and grown without depending entirely on my daily presence. For me, that is the real impact of RISE.
Thanks to the quality of the professionals leading this program and the strength of the cohort experience, I can confidently say: do not miss the opportunity to be part of RISE when you have the chance.
Thank you to CHCC, the CHCC Foundation, the RISE team, and especially the entrepreneurs in our cohort who made the experience invaluable.
